Definition Procedure Text 

Procedure text is text that gives orders or instructions to do something. Usually this type of text begins with the sentence "How to...", for example "How to Make Scrambled Eggs. Procedure Text can be found in many recipe books and manuals.

Procedure Text Function 

Procedure text is to explain the steps in doing a certain activity.

Generic structure

  • Aim/Goal
Well, the first part in writing procedure text is aim/goal which means goal. Usually, this purpose lies in the title indicating the purpose of the text.

Example: How to Make Dalgona Coffee
  • Ingredients/materials
In the second part, Smart Buddy is required to write materials. Writing these materials is useful for explaining what materials or tools are used to make something in the procedure text.

Example: The ingredients for making Dalgona Coffee are coffee and sugar. We also need a spoon and warm water.
  • Step/Method
Ayaaaa!! Until we come to the end, namely writing steps/methods (steps/methods). This section contains the steps taken to achieve the objectives of the procedure text.

Example: First, wash the tomatoes.

Generic Structure of Narrative Text # Orientation : It is about the opening paragraph where the characters of the story are introduced. # Complication : Where the problems in the story developed. # Resolution : Where the problems in the story is solved.  # Coda / reorientation (optional) – lesson from the story.
